St. Bonifacius Library serves area residents in St. Bonifacius, Mound, Minnetrista, Waconia, and Westonka. In 1931, the library open within the former People’s State Bank Building, a donation to the Village of St. Bonifacius by local landowners Mr. and Mrs. Edward C. Gale for use as a library. Constructed in 1916, the building had no running water, no restrooms, and no central heating and cooling until1987. The library was renovated in 2006.
