Roosevelt Library serves Roosevelt High School students and the Roosevelt neighborhood of south Minneapolis. It was one of 13 libraries developed under nationally known library director Gratia Countryman, who was instrumental in expanding the city’s library system (1904-1936.) Built in 1927 and completely renovated in 2013, the library has received historic designation from the City of Minneapolis Heritage Preservation Commission and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. 

Friends of Roosevelt Library

Friends of Roosevelt Library is a volunteer-run organization whose mission is to support the Roosevelt Library and uplift the spirit of the surrounding community. As ambassadors for the library, Friends of Roosevelt Library members advocate for community needs and help promote library programs and services.
