Excelsior Library serves the south Lake Minnetonka communities of Deephaven, Excelsior, Greenwood, Shorewood, and Tonka Bay. For several decades, the library was housed within various community locations, beginning with the White House Hotel in 1922. The library’s first permanent location opened in 1965. In 2014, Excelsior Library moved to its current location on Water Street in the heart of downtown Excelsior, adjacent to the Lake Minnetonka LRT Regional Trail.

Friends of Excelsior Library

Friends of Excelsior Library is a volunteer-run organization whose mission is to support the Excelsior Library and uplift the spirit of the surrounding community. As ambassadors for the library, Friends of Excelsior Library members advocate for community needs and help promote library programs and services.
