Golden Valley Library opened in 1958 within the Golden Valley Village Hall before relocating to its current location overlooking scenic Bassett Creek in 1971. Golden Valley Library was the first library to be funded entirely by Hennepin County after the State Legislature authorized the county’s long-range building program in 1969.

Friends of Golden Valley Library

Friends of Golden Valley Library is a volunteer-run organization whose mission is to support the Golden Valley Library and uplift the spirit of the surrounding community. As ambassadors for the library, Friends of Golden Valley Library members advocate for community needs and help promote library programs and services.
