Friends of HCL is an active community of supporters for our nationally-acclaimed Library system. As the nonprofit partner of Hennepin County Library, Friends of HCL raises funds for HCL strategic priorities including youth-focused programs such as Teen Tech Squad and Homework Help and key initiatives such as expanding early learning, building our beloved collection, and reaching out to homebound seniors.  Friends of HCL also presents Pen Pals and Talk of the Stacks, and coordinates 41 local library friends groups.

Your support makes a difference for everyone who uses the Library’s extraordinary services and resources. Last year, a staggering 5.8 million people visited the Library and checked out more than 18.3 million items. The HCL website registered 21.4 million visits, and 200,000 people participated in free Library programs. This wouldn’t be possible without dedicated supporters.

Strong libraries strengthen our communities. Your support of the Friends of the Hennepin County Library makes a tangible difference for everyone who uses our Library’s extraordinary services and resources.
