Public library service in Mound and the surrounding communities began in 1915, when Minneapolis Public Library made a small book collection available to area residents. In 1922, Hennepin County Library assumed responsibility for the library in Mound and operated from various community locations. In 1972, Westonka Library moved to its current location, a scenic, wooded site near Lake Minnetonka.

Friends of Westonka Library

Friends of Westonka Library is a volunteer-run organization whose mission is to support the Westonka Library and uplift the spirit of the surrounding community. As ambassadors for the library, Friends of Westonka Library members advocate for community needs and help promote library programs and services.
