Join the Friends of the Hennepin County Library (Friends of HCL), an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and enhancing our libraries’ rich diversity of resources and programming for generations to come.
Your support makes a difference for everyone who uses the Hennepin County Library’s extraordinary services and resources. The numbers are staggering: last year, 5.8 million people visited the Library, checked out more than 17.5 million items and attended more than 210,000 free programs. This wouldn’t be possible without an active community of dedicated supporters, like you.
Join our circle of friends today and help us change lives throughout our community. With your support this year, we will help the Library:
- Nourish Minds. By providing funding to purchase thousands of books, to support the annual summer reading program and to offer an array of teen programs.
- Transform Lives. By donating resources for the Homework Hub centers, early literacy services and innovative programs for New Americans.
- Build Community. By coordinating 41 grassroots Friends groups and hosting prominent author and cultural events, such as Pen Pals, Talk of the Stacks and Childish Films series.
