ABOUT THE FRIENDS

Hennepin County Library's independent Friends of the Library groups are vital partners in library support. Entirely led by dedicated volunteers, Friends groups help their local library through volunteering, fundraising, sponsoring programs, and acting as ambassadors in the communities where their library is touching lives everyday. Used book sales are an important source of revenue for Friends groups. You can make a difference for your library by getting involved and becoming a member. The Hennepin County Library, Library Foundation, and each Friends group are partners under our shared mission to strengthen library services and resources. Groups are currently found at all suburban libraries. Facilitating the start of new Friends groups in all Minneapolis libraries and supporting existing groups are top priorities for the Library Foundation.
