The Library Foundation is accepting applications to fill three designated seats reserved on the Board of Directors and three additional seats on a new Foundation Friends Committee. Active members of Library Friends Groups in Hennepin County are eligible to apply. The Foundation Board felt that since the Foundation has assumed a coordinating role for Friends groups, it is vitally important that there be regular Friends representation on the Board. The Minnesota Library Association provides opportunities to meet library peers and associates. MLA meets the interests of its members by facilitating educational opportunities, supportingstrong ethical standards, and fostering connections between the library community and various constituencies. An annual three-day conference, featuring approximately 70 programs held in the fall. Programs are planned and sponsored by Divisions, Sections, Round Tables, and Committees.
