After 18 months of anticipation, the newly-renovated Nokomis Library (5100 34th Ave. S., Minneapolis) reopens on Saturday, April 30. Join us when a great day of grand opening festivities begin at 9:45 am with remarks from community leaders and a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Enjoy live music and a scavenger hunt throughout the day. Most of all, come explore the beautiful new library, featuring more space, more computers, refreshed resources, an entirely new community room, and the latest in green technologies.
The grand opening is also the first event of the new Friends of Nokomis Library, a community-based support organization dedicated to enriching the experience for everyone who walks through the library’s doors. Visit the Friends information table to receive your free commemorative grand opening book bag. To learn more or volunteer with the Friends, email nokomis@supporthclib.org.
Complete details on the new library and its grand opening are found in Hennepin County Library’s press release.
